Our last days in Norway

Sharing is caring!

On the second to the last day in Norway, we drove to the coast. We stayed in the nicest place near the coast. It was an apartment that had been completely remodeled and the lady was very nice. She told us her husband does construction and they redid this place themselves. It was very well done.

This was the first time it rained during our trip. We can’t complain about that! The next day we drove along the coast on the Atlantic Highway. It’s a famous section of highway that is known for its views of the Atlantic coast.

It had a bridge that went up and curved in the middle. It was pretty cool. The views of the ocean were good too. I think it would have been even better on a clear day when you could see further.

After that, we drove back across the country to be near the airport for our flight the next day. The thing about that drive was that almost every turn in the road and after every tunnel was a postcard type of view.

The houses and farms were what you would think Norway looks like. The typical design with mountains as the backdrop.

Even the villages were picturesque and beautiful. There were waterfalls everywhere. With the mountains and the streams, lakes, and fjords, it was very pretty. We had to stop often for Marty to take pictures.

Besides the wood stave churches, there are a lot of other beautiful churches there. You could probably do a picture book just of the churches in Norway.

There aren’t many fast food places there, but that evening we saw a McDonalds there. We ate there because everyone wanted to see what the menu was like. It was better than here.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Norway. It is a beautiful country. I will tell you that it is one of the more expensive places we have been to. But it’s a great place for a vacation if you ever get the chance.
