On Our Farm

Sharing is caring!

This may seem like an odd title for a travel blog. What you may or may not know is that we own a small farm in Southern Chile. So, actually, I have to travel for quite some time to visit our farm.

It really is beautiful there and I got to spend about three weeks there working on our cabin. This was in later October, which makes it middle to late spring there.

There were a lot of flowering trees and bushes this time of year, which only adds to the beauty of the area.

Our farm is located at the base of a snow-capped mountain and on the edge of a fjord of the Pacific Ocean. The water is blue and in the spring, more mountains have snow on them.

The air is clean and you can drink straight from almost all of the creeks in the area. The trees and grass are varying shades of green. There are huge rocks on my farm and it’s easy to forget how beautiful this is. I believe it rivals Norway in natural beauty.

I also have several friends there, so it was great to spend time with them. My intention is to turn it into a destination farm for travel.

There are a lot of things to do in the area. There is a hot spring near there. About 20 miles away is a place called Cochamo valley. This is known as the Yosemite of Chile. When you hike back there, it looks very similar to Yosemite Valley in California.

There are also a lot of waterfalls in the area. There are some small ones right at the farm.
