The Shows at Branson

Sharing is caring!

Branson is probably best known for the shows there. They range from musicals to comedies to live plays. They are usually very well done and world-class productions. The advantage of seeing shows at Branson is that most of them are very family-friendly.

Cool sign at The Haygoods.

We saw 5 shows while we were there. The first one we saw was Reza, the illusionist. They don’t allow photography during the show, so I don’t have any pictures of his show. He does a lot of the regular stunts, but usually bigger and with a twist. For instance, he had a lady lay on a table and waved his hands over her and she started to levitate.

Then he walked away and waved his hand at her and she shot up in the air about 20 feet. Then he brought out the ring that magicians pass over the lady to show there are no ropes. Instead of her coming down, he shot up in the air and passed the ring around her while she was 20 feet in the air.

He also did a disappearing act, but he rode a motorcycle into a cage. They had the cage raised off the ground and then the bottom fell out of the cage, but he wasn’t in it anymore.

He did a lot of other cool tricks, including making a full-sized helicopter appear on stage out of nowhere. If you like illusionists, I think he was one of the best. I also liked the way he interacted with the crowd. He was very down-to-earth and relatable.

The next show we saw was The Comedy Jamboree. I thought it was funny and enjoyed it. Marty wasn’t as impressed. She thought they had too many songs and not enough comedy.

I liked the jokes and the characters they portrayed. They had some skits with audience participation. They also sang some made-up songs that I found funny. I would also recommend this show and it was family-friendly.

The third show we saw was the Dolly Parton Stampede. This is a dinner show with horses, buffalo, cattle, wagons, and much more. You sit around the arena while the performance is in front of you. They have stunt riding, comedy, and games.

You get plenty to eat and won’t leave hungry. This is a big show and I think it is great for kids and adults. I would highly recommend this show if you have time to see it.

The fourth show we saw was the production ‘Jesus’. All week long, everybody told us we should see this show. We’ve seen Jesus plays before and weren’t sure about this, but we decided to see it. It was the most amazing live production I’ve seen. Marty has seen broadway productions, but she said this was better than any she had seen before.

Sight and Sound theater where ‘Jesus’ was performed.

The stage can change in minutes from a city, to the sea, to an olive grove. Three-story tall buildings move around on stage. They have camels, sheep, horses, and goats on stage. You can hear everything very well and at times the staging is on both sides and in front of you.

It was very well done with great acting and at times I had tears in my eyes. If you go to Branson this year, this is a show you must see! I would give it six stars out of five.

The last show we saw was the Haygoods. The Haygoods are all in one family and do a music show. It’s much more than just a music show. My daughter isn’t in to concerts, but she liked them. They have an amazing light show during their concert.

They do comedy, clogging, and so much more with their show. I have pics of their show. If you go to Branson, this is one show you should definitely see!

The shows we saw were all great and I don’t think they were overrated. The tickets aren’t cheap, especially if you have four people. Most of our tickets we got at a discount by seeing a sales presentation. If you are going to Branson, make sure you see some of their great shows.
